Dreams ...

A daydream is a meal at which images are eaten. Some of us are
gourmets, some gourmands, and a good many take their images
precooked out of a can and swallow them down whole,
absent-mindedly and with little relish.
W. H. Auden

Ah, great it is to believe the dream
As we stand in youth by the starry stream;
But a greater thing is to fight life through,
And say at the end, "The dream is true!"
Edwin Markham

We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers.
They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire
of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die,
but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days
till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always
to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.
Woodrow Wilson

I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be
realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires.
Kahlil Gibran

Dreams - A microscope through which we look
at the hidden occurrences in our soul.
Erich Fromm

Dreams are ... illustrations from the book
your soul is writing about you. Marsha Norman

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
William Butler Yeats "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven"

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams
and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined,
he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost;
now put the foundations under them.
Henry David Thoreau
