Lady Dream

From her voltaic window gazing,
Lady Dream her wings unfold.
To childlike hearts she's raising,
A call to worlds untold.

She comes for me softly, lightly,
She will not lead, she guides.
Beckoning to me sweetly; slightly,
On wispy wings she glides.

"Before we travel you must know,"
Says she with learned eye.
"My realm bears seeds that will grow,
If you steadfastly try."

"With love and caring they sprout,
In kindness will they thrive.
A better world may come about,
When dreams can yet survive."

In daydream, or in nightly rest,
Safe haven she embodies.
And snuggled in her downy nest,
Our souls surpass our bodies.

The dreary world she brightens,
Its transient woes subside.
The weary heart she lightens,
And sets our cares aside.

Harsh reality cowers, then recedes,
In her presence powerless.
Her noble grandeur it concedes,
It simply can't suppress.

Through cloudy eyes I watch her fly,
Rising above life's shadows.
My mind not sure why hearts rely,
On the gifts that she bestows.

My heart amazed it could deny,
The lessons she can teach.
As dreams evolve, if I but try,
Oh, what heights I'll reach.

For peace, and cure, and brotherhood,
With hope we can aspire.
For if we've dreamed, and understood,
Efforts all that they require.

So ever changing as time goes,
Lady Dream in flight proceeds,
Knowing it's a dream that grows,
That will satisfy our needs.

And when at length life calls again,
Lady Dream will not demur.
With unfaltering steps to her domain,
I'll walk again for sure.
